Advice on how to update VPN in windows 10 - for OCMC users only

STEP A: Repair VPN client installed

1. Download the vpnclient-winx64-msi- below

 2. Use 7-Zip to extract the EXE  (we're going to need the vpnclient_setup.msi from the extracted folder)

3. Go to the Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features, and the Cisco Systems VPN Client 5.0 in the list of programs, and use the repair option.

4. IF The repair will ask you for an MSI source, point it to the extracted vpnclient_setup.msi in Step 2.

B. Need to Regedit and correct Name (gets currupted during install)

5. Click Start and type regedit in the Search field and hit enter. 6.Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA 7.Find the String Value called DisplayName

8.Right click and select Modify from the context menu.

9.In Value data, remove @oemX.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;. The Value data should only contain Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows.

10.Click Ok.

11.Close Registry Editor.

RESTART computer before trying Cisco VPN
